Alarm Notifications
A user can set up alarm notifications (via Email or SMS) under their account for individual alarm data points, a group of points, or an entire project.
Note on SMS Notifications: SMS alarm notifications are automatically available and fully supported in the Mervis Cloud solution. For local (on-premise) installations, SMS functionality is also fully supported but requires additional local setup to activate.

First, you need to enter the user's phone number (for SMS) and/or email address in the user management section.
Then, select the desired data points and open the “Alarm Notification” option.
The notification settings offer the following options:
- Type: Project, Path (Group of data points), Data point
- Delay: The delay in sending an alarm notification after an alarm occurs in Mervis
- Transitions: Occurrence, Reset (transition from alarm to OK state)
- Message: A predefined message (an example can be found here: Alarm SMS Example)
- Channels: SMS, Email *(Select one or both depending on your needs and cloud/local setup)*
- ID: Unique identifier for the notification
After setting up, an icon will appear in Mervis, indicating the activated data points, group of points, or the entire project.
