Mervis RT Update Information for Unipi Platform
Mervis RT 2.7 (from Mervis RT 2.5)
- Mervis IDE now allows updating Mervis RT even on OS versions 2.5 and 2.4.
- During the update, it is important to check the network settings after opening the project in the new IDE:
- In versions prior to 2.6, multiple network interface configurations were handled differently and cannot always be automatically migrated to the new version.
- Only the variant where both network interfaces are joined in a bridge with a single IP configuration is migrated automatically.
- It is also necessary to check the default gateway and DNS settings in the Networking section of the PLC configuration.
- Proper attention must be paid during the actual RT update:
- After the update, RT always performs an activation of the HW configuration stored in the device, but this is where a problem may occur.
- If the device contains a configuration with two separate activated interfaces, everything will be migrated and will continue to work.
- In the case of a bridged configuration, only the first interface will remain active after the update — the bridge configuration is not migrated. If your connection to the PLC is made through the second interface, you must first upload a configuration with separated interfaces using version 2.5, so that the second interface takes over the IP settings of the bridge, and only then perform the RT update. Otherwise, you will lose connectivity to the PLC and local access will be required.
- After updating RT, upload the checked and verified HW configuration to the PLC.
