Merbon Product Family & Comparison
End of Sales Notice: As of 2025, sales and deliveries of Merbon SCADA have been discontinued. Existing projects are strongly encouraged to upgrade to Mervis SCADA to ensure long-term support and CRA compliance.
What is Merbon?
Merbon is a product family name used by the Domat company. Historically, the Merbon SCADA software was developed based on licensed components from the Mervis platform.
While they share a common technological origin, Merbon SCADA lost contact with the latest Mervis development several years ago. This divergence effectively froze its core feature set, while the Mervis platform continued active development.
The Feature Gap: Mervis vs. Merbon
Because development diverged, the modern Mervis platform offers significant capabilities that are absent in Merbon SCADA. Users upgrading to Mervis gain access to years of accumulated innovations, including:
- Mervis Portal: A centralized, secure management hub with Enterprise-grade security (MFA), user administration, and full project file history/recovery.
- Advanced Alarm Handling: Mervis includes modernized alarm logic, allowing for “memory” state confirmation and more sophisticated alert editing not available in older versions.
- Seamless IDE Integration: Mervis IDE features a dedicated “Export to Mervis SCADA“ tool. This allows integrators to export data points, tables, and visualization schemas directly from the IDE to the cloud—a workflow efficiency that the legacy Merbon ecosystem lacks.

Lifecycle Status & Migration
Since Merbon is essentially a branded version of an older Mervis generation, migrating to Mervis SCADA is technically an upgrade rather than a platform switch.
Your existing logic and data structures are largely compatible. However, by moving to Mervis, you unlock the modern tools listed above and ensure compliance with the upcoming EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
