====== Licensing ======

Mervis SCADA is available in two licensing models: **Cloud Service** (SaaS) and **On-premises Software**.

Depending on your deployment method, the licensing requirements differ:

===== 1. Cloud Service (SaaS) =====
  * **No license file is required.**
  * Access is provided via a **Service Subscription**.
  * Pricing and feature tiers are managed directly through your Mervis account.

===== 2. On-premises (Local Server) =====
To run Mervis SCADA on your own server, you must purchase a license and activate the software.

  * **Online Activation:** The software uses an online licensing system. The server must have access to the internet to validate the license against the Mervis licensing servers.
  * **Limits:** The license defines specific limits for your installation, such as:
    * Maximum number of **Data Points**
    * Number of **Server Instances**
    * **Expiration Date** (if applicable)
